Future Plans

So to put it simply, there is going to be some major changes being made as time goes on, and there are a good amount of reasons behind this, that I am going to explain.

What happened?

March 2025 wasn't a great month for me and for plenty of reasons. I had a hard-time processing a rather ongoing personal situation which has made me felt uneasy for a while. To make matters worse, some internal drama broke up between some within my community (myself included) and the owner of the DOSBox Deathmatch Club. This resulted in a tough decision to depart from the server, which eventually broke me.

For those who don't know, I've been in that server for five years now and it's a shame that it went down the way it did. However I won't go into detail out of respect and it's for the better to move on to better things. What I will bring up is that my departure along with the processing of a personal situation led to suffering from depression. I wake up feeling groggy and my family noticed that I wasn't looking good. I couldn't eat or commit to my diet as much and thinking or even talking about it often leads to feeling choked up and has resulted in breaking down in tears.

While it took some time to recover and move on, this has disrupted further plans for a while due to my motivation getting shot down. So with that being said I want to also note that I am feeling better day by day but it's going to take a bit more time to get my motivation back for things.

State of Dakkijam

During February, I was working a lot and putting effort to the upcoming Unreal addon called, Dakkijam : Na Pali Arena. This project was going to put a slow pause to my production of future YouTube videos until the project got finished, but following the situation, I just didn't feel like mapping. The project isn't dead yet, but it is either on-hold or under slow development for a while. I just want to put it out there is all.

State of YouTube

Towards the end of March, I got around to finishing a livestream completing Unreal on an AMD K6/2 (under software rendering) after a delay or two. However despite wanting to do a multiplayer livestream and starting a poll for next game, I just wasn't feeling it.

I will also further note that I had a video almost near completion before things got worse for me and finishing my upcoming video would be the first course of action once I regain motivation. As it stands, I am not sure what to do with some of my side-channels. I have run dry of ideas for both PC RETROGAMERE 95 and Sodakki386 and there are no further plans for Network Games Archive. For those who don't know that was a side-project between me and the DOSBox Deathmatch Club where I provide multiplayer footages both old and new under the Creative Commons license. A few videos got scrapped following my departure but I do have a set of scripts slowly being written for after my upcoming video gets finished and out the door hopefully this month.

Basically, I will try to focus on my YouTube Channel a bit more before I shift focus on other things. Not only that, but to also push my Discord server as a more freeform retro gaming community which leads me to the next thing I will be talking about.

State of this website

Prior to March, I had recently expressed taking things easy with servers like the Deathmatch Club to focus on my own Discord community. House of THEBaratusII was renamed to Akage's LAN House to be on brand with my Babiniku VTuber persona as Akage Megane. To top it all off, this website was going to shift to being a multiplayer community site with a LAN House button being on the homepage. However following my departure and the DMClub's website shutting down for a day before the domain was transferred, it has led to a decision that the website will revert to being "Akage Megane" while I slowly try to build Akage's LAN House as a seperate website instead of being part of this website.

On another note, the domain for this website is set to change from thebaratusii.com to akagemegane.com, so remember to keep that in mind. Anyway that's about all I want to say for this one. I will have more to say as time goes on.
